Washington DC!

So we just got back from DC and had SO much fun! I was told that it was "a lot of walking", "tons of walking", and "really, a lot of walking," but nobody told me that it was SO SO SO SO SO much walking you'd cut your own feet off if you had a knife near by! I have never walked that much in my life! I am a ballerina, I am fine with dancing for hours on my toes, but this kind of foot pain was just horrible! We really did have so much fun, but because you are walking around so much and literally on your feet all day you are SO exhausted by the end of the day. It was really so nice to be with Andrew all day and sleep in together (usually I do that alone). Andrew is such a good little travel buddy- he is really good with maps. I am no map genius so I am grateful that he can read maps very well. We ever got lost and we got on and off every subway train that we needed to. Andrew is also one of those happy go lucky guys and when we are traveling the "go lucky" part is really good because everything seems to work out so perfectly- I guess that is how our life is too. I love him SO much and really do miss him when he is at work all day. Here are a TON of pictures (sorry), just be glad that I didn't post all 155 of the pictures that I took.

The National Archive Building where we saw the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and the Constitution- it was really neat!

The Old Post Office Pavilion...

Us on the top of the Old Post Office Pavilion...

Pictures from the top... The Capital

Pictures from the top...

Ford's Theatre where President Lincoln was shot...

The booth he was in when he was shot...

The actual suit he was wearing when he was shot. They had to cut his shirt, so there is no original shirt. The pillow on the floor next to the suit has his real blood stains!

The gun that killed President Lincoln...

Us with a statue of President Lincoln...

FUNNY STORY: So obviously I did not take the last picture, some nice lady took it for us. After the picture was taken I walked up to go and get the camera from her and saw this little kid taking pictures and winding his disposable camera as fast as his chubby little fingers could go. I noticed that he was taking pictures of something moving, or someone walking or something. So I turned to see what he was taking pictures of and about lost it... He was taking pictures of Andrew! O my goodness it was SO funny! Andrew had no idea and after I got our camera back and realized what was going on Andrew was in another part of the museum. I have no idea what this kid was taking pictures of him for, maybe he thought Andrew was just really cute- I guess I can't blame him! Ha Ha! My mom said that she thinks that the chubby little kid probably thought that Andrew was so cute and tall and in such good shape that he wants to be just like him...

The bed President Lincoln died in...

We went to the Crime and Punishment Museum. It was really cool. It was all about serial killers and had all these crazy sick artifacts from them. I don't know why so many people (us included) have such a fascination for such a sick thing like serial killers... Maybe cause it just catches your attention so much.

Me in Jail...

I need one of these at home. Ha Ha!

Cell Mates!

At the Natural History Smithsonian- our favorite one of the 3 that we were able to go to...

Dino...

That's ME!

Mama and Baby Bear...

Seriously Andrew's hands are as big as frying pans... or bear claws! Ha Ha!

HUGE Whale!

My excellent photography skills gave Andrew a nice new look...

We went to the American History Smithsonian and it was really cool! They had a part with all of the First Ladies Inaugural Dresses!
This was Martha Washington's dress...

Michelle Obama's Inaugural dress...

My personal favorite invention... The First Heating Pad!

How the $5 bill evolved...

They also had a section on Birth Control... Not that I am a fan of it at all, but I thought this little guy was funny...

My FAVORITE part of the trip! These are Dorothy's shoes!I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Wizard of Oz! When I was little I would watch it 10 times a day and say, "Mommy, I want to watch Poz..." I think it is such a cute movie!

President Lincoln's top hat that he wore the day he was shot. I know it looks bronzed, but it wasn't, it was just old and dirty I guess...

President Washington's suit...

The original Star- Spangled Banner. It was SO big! The lady that made it couldn't even fit it in her house- she had to put it all together in a warehouse!

At the Air and Space Museum. This museum was cool, but not our favorite. I guess we're not totally into air and space...
This is the original plane that the Wright Brother's first flew!

The one and only time that I wore my rain jacket that we bought for this trip. The weather reports said that 3 of the 5 days we were going to be there was going to be thunderstorms! (This is that "go lucky" thing I was talking about...)You can see the capital coming out of Andrew's shoulder...

Andrew's Celestial Kingdom...

The White House! Since we booked this trip like 3 weeks ago we weren't able to do a tour of the White House because you have to book your tours 30 days in advance...

The White House...

By the Reflecting Pond. You can see the Lincoln Memorial behind us. It might look close, but I seriously thought that this was a death march! I almost had to get on my hands and knees and crawl the rest of the way it made me SO tired!

Taking a rest on the steps...

Honest Abe! I couldn't believe how big the statue was, it was really cool...

The Lincoln Memorial...

On the other side of the Reflecting Pond with the Washington Monument behind us...

The Washington Monument...

The Holocaust Museum. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, but it was SO cool. It seriously makes you want to cry seeing all the pain those poor people went through.

We went on a tour of the Capital. The building itself was so gorgeous. I never thought it would look like that on the inside...

US Capital...

US Capital...

US Capital...

US Capital...

We went to this museum called The Newseum. It was all about how the news has shaped our lives and changed the world. It was pretty cool. They had tons of front page news articles from historical and significant events.

Titanic Sinks...

Hitler Dies...

Marilyn Monroe dies..

Prince Charles and Princess Diana get married...

Princess Diana Dies...

Part of the Berlin Wall at the Newseum...

Andrew was SO sweet the whole time he carried this backpack for us. It had my jacket, camera, treats, water, umbrella and everything else we needed. I figure that the extra 10 pounds the backpack was adding to him was about the weight of something that I am carrying for us... Our son! Ha Ha!

All in all the trip was fabulous and I am so happy that we were able to go on one last trip alone before baby. We decided that we are going to go on a trip alone every year NO MATTER WHAT! So far we have...
2008- Honeymoon Cruise
2009- San Fransisco
2010- Washington DC

I guess I can't blog anymore without talking about the baby... He is doing great! I am feeling him a lot and I love it! He is so cute and when he is hungry he kicks up a storm. Whenever I get hungry I feel him a lot more than usual. My cravings lately have been ice cream and nachos! Kinda weird I know... My next Dr appointment I get to drink that yummy orange glucose drink- wish me luck!

Thanks for reading! Love Ya!

hahahah, you weren't kidding about a TON of pictures... this is totally how my posts are. I actually really enjoyed seeing all of the things you did, because some of these things we missed.

I warned you about the walking! It is not worth wearing cute/matching shoes around D.C. Next time we go, I'm going to wear my running shoes. It KILLS you, even when you're not pregnant. What a trooper you are.

P.S. Taylor's fav museum was the Air and Space, hahah.
